Roof Maxx

Answers adapted for ECO Group from the Roof Maxx manufacturer FAQ topics. Watch FAQ videos or review the manufacturer’s FAQs.

How do I know if my roof qualifies?

Roof Maxx is designed for asphalt shingle roofs that are aging but still structurally sound. During a free assessment we check shingle condition, granule loss, flexibility and any damage, then tell you honestly whether treatment makes sense or whether repair or replacement is the better choice.

What exactly is Roof Maxx?

Roof Maxx is a plant-based treatment sprayed onto your existing shingles. It soaks in and replaces oils that shingles lose over time, which helps them regain flexibility and resist cracking.

How does Roof Maxx work?

As asphalt shingles age, they lose oils and become less flexible. Roof Maxx penetrates suitable shingles to help replenish those oils. It rejuvenates the shingles rather than forming a waterproof coating over the roof.

How much does it cost?

Every roof is different, so we price after the assessment based on your roof's size and condition. Restoration typically costs a fraction of a full replacement. Financing is available.

What should I expect on treatment day?

No tear-off, no dumpster and no shingles in your yard. Treatment is usually completed in a single visit.

Can you replace my roof if it's beyond treatment?

Yes. If your roof is past restoration, ECO Group also handles roof replacement, and we'll walk you through those options.

Can Roof Maxx make an asphalt roof last forever?

No. Roof Maxx can extend the useful life of suitable asphalt shingles, but all roofs eventually need replacement. Results depend on roof condition, maintenance and exposure.

Can I buy Roof Maxx and apply it myself?

Roof Maxx is professionally applied by authorized dealers. Contact ECO Group for an assessment and an estimate.

What is Roof Maxx made of?

Roof Maxx uses a plant-based, soy-derived oil treatment designed to penetrate aging asphalt shingles and restore flexibility.

Will Roof Maxx change my roof’s appearance?

Some roofs may darken slightly after treatment. The change varies by roof and may fade over time. The treatment is intended to improve shingle flexibility, not to recolor the roof.

Will treatment affect my homeowners insurance?

Insurance policies and underwriting decisions vary. Contact your insurer before treatment to confirm how it may affect your particular policy, inspections or renewal. We can provide information about the work performed.

Is Roof Maxx available in my area?

ECO Group provides Roof Maxx service within approximately 150 miles of our Chippewa Falls home base. Send your address and we’ll confirm coverage.

When should I treat my asphalt shingles?

Timing depends on the roof’s age, condition, climate and granule loss. An assessment can help determine whether treatment is appropriate now or whether your roof has other needs.

Can a newer roof benefit from treatment?

Roof Maxx generally does not recommend treatment until shingles begin showing signs of aging and granule loss. In northern climates, roofs younger than approximately 7–10 years may not need treatment yet. An assessment can help determine the right timing.

Will Roof Maxx stop or seal a roof leak?

No. Roof Maxx is a shingle rejuvenator, not a leak sealant. Leaks and damaged flashing, shingles or other roof components need to be assessed and appropriately repaired.

Will Roof Maxx remove moss, algae or mildew?

No. It does not remove existing growth or black streaks. Roof Maxx says its ingredient may help inhibit moss and algae; cleaning may be recommended before treatment. Ask us about your roof’s condition.

What weather is needed for treatment?

Roof Maxx says application requires dry weather and temperatures above 36°F; a slightly damp roof may still be treatable. Your technician will assess conditions and allow time for the product to soak in before rain.

Will treatment void my shingle manufacturer’s warranty?

Roof Maxx reports no indication that its treatment has caused a manufacturer’s warranty claim to be denied. Warranty terms differ, so review your shingle warranty and contact the manufacturer if you have questions about your coverage.

What does the five-year warranty cover?

Roof Maxx describes a transferable, five-year limited warranty covering treated shingle flexibility, subject to its terms. It does not cover all roof problems, including certain leaks or storm damage. Ask us for the current warranty document and its exclusions.

Is Roof Maxx safe for people, pets and plants?

Roof Maxx describes its plant-based treatment as safe for people, pets and the surrounding environment when properly applied. We can discuss application precautions and answer questions before treatment.

Does Roof Maxx pose a fire risk?

Roof Maxx describes the treatment as nonflammable. Ask us for product information if you have questions about your particular roof.

Can asphalt shingles be recycled?

Asphalt shingles can be recycled in some locations, but availability and accepted materials vary. Contact a local recycling facility or waste hauler to check options. Extending the life of an eligible roof can also delay tear-off waste.

Is treatment useful if I’m selling my home?

A treatment may help address aging shingles before a sale, and Roof Maxx offers a transferable five-year limited warranty, subject to its terms. Buyers, inspectors, lenders and insurers make their own decisions, so treatment does not guarantee a sale or particular outcome.

How long does treatment take?

Roof Maxx says application can take from roughly 30 minutes to a few hours, depending on the roof and any preparation needed. We’ll discuss the expected timing after assessing your property.

Do you work on commercial or multi-family roofs?

Roof Maxx is for asphalt shingle roofs on homes, rentals and many multi-family buildings. For flat or low-slope commercial roofs, see our Commercial Roof Restoration page.

Can my roof receive multiple treatments?

Roof Maxx describes repeat treatment at approximately five-year intervals for roofs that remain suitable. We assess the roof again before recommending another application. Repeat treatment is not a promise that a roof will last indefinitely.

ECO Shield

What is ECO Shield?

ECO Shield focuses on commercial flat and low-slope roof restoration using fluid-applied, fiber-reinforced systems. We evaluate the existing roof before recommending whether restoration is suitable.

How do I know whether restoration is an option?

Roof condition, moisture, drainage, the existing assembly and required repairs all matter. Request an evaluation rather than choosing a coating based on appearance alone. ECO Shield serves approximately 150 miles from our Chippewa Falls home base.

ECO Solar

How is ECO Solar different from ECO Energy?

ECO Solar helps you generate electricity from sunlight. ECO Energy helps commercial customers understand and reduce the energy their buildings use. They can complement one another, but they solve different problems.

Is my property suitable for solar?

We review sunlight, shading, available roof or ground space, roof condition and your electricity use. A sunny roof is helpful, but a ground-mounted system may be an option when the property and site conditions allow.

Do you serve homes, businesses and farms?

Yes. ECO Solar explores residential, commercial and farm solar projects in Wisconsin and the Midwest. Tell us your location and goals so we can confirm the right next step.

Do panels work through a Wisconsin winter?

Panels can produce power in cold weather when sunlight reaches them. Shorter days, cloud cover and snow affect output. Your estimate should account for seasonal production rather than treating every month like summer.

Will solar keep the power on during an outage?

A standard grid-connected system generally shuts down when the grid goes down. Backup requires compatible equipment and a system specifically designed for it, often including battery storage. We review which loads you want to support.

Do I need a battery?

A battery is optional for many grid-connected systems. It can store electricity for later use, but the value depends on your usage, utility rates and backup goals. We can compare solar with and without storage.

Who installs the system, and what should I prepare?

ECO Solar works with Carlson Electric as its installation partner. Bring about a year of electricity bills, your property location and any planned changes such as an electric vehicle or new equipment. We review design, pricing, financing and applicable incentives without promising a particular credit or savings.

ECO Energy

What does ECO Energy do?

ECO Energy helps commercial customers measure energy use, identify waste, prioritize improvements and verify results. Monitoring makes patterns visible; your team and agreed service providers then put suitable changes into practice.

What is Eniscope monitoring?

Eniscope gathers energy data from selected electrical circuits and equipment and makes it available through an online platform. It can help you compare building-level and asset-level use instead of relying only on a monthly bill.

What types of buildings can benefit?

Restaurants, hotels, schools, manufacturers, retail operations and other commercial sites can benefit from greater visibility. The review considers equipment, operating schedules, energy spend and whether there is a practical opportunity to improve.

What kinds of waste can monitoring identify?

Examples include equipment running outside opening hours, unnecessary overnight loads and changes from a normal usage pattern. Patterns can point to a scheduling, operating or maintenance issue; they need to be checked against what is happening onsite.

What is Virtual Energy Management?

VEM adds ongoing analysis and guidance to the monitoring data. Depending on the agreed scope, this can include identifying opportunities, reviewing schedules, reporting and checking whether changes continue to perform. Read our dedicated VEM guide for more detail.

Does monitoring automatically control equipment?

Monitoring and control are separate capabilities. A monitoring project measures what is happening. Connected sensors or controls require suitable equipment, configuration and an agreed scope; they are not automatically included with every installation.

How much will I save, and how do you verify it?

Savings depend on your building, baseline, operating changes and follow-through. We do not apply another customer's case-study result to your site. Comparable before-and-after data should account for relevant changes in hours, occupancy, weather and production.

What should I prepare for an energy review?

Start with utility bills, operating hours, a list of major equipment and any existing plans or panel schedules. We confirm which monitoring points and services make sense. Electrical surveys and installation are handled by qualified people; customers should not open panels to collect information.
