ECO Shield FAQs
Commercial roofing questions
Understand your options, know what to expect and start with a phone conversation.
Your roof & restoration options
Can my commercial roof be restored?
Restoration may be an option when the existing roof is a suitable foundation for the selected system. Roof material, attachment, drainage, moisture and overall condition need to be evaluated before we recommend a solution.
What types of roofs do you evaluate?
We evaluate commercial roof types such as metal, single-ply, built-up and modified bitumen, concrete and spray foam. Compatibility depends on the roof and the specific system. Explore roof types.
Can restoration help with a leaking roof?
Leaks need to be investigated first. Seams, penetrations, flashings and damaged areas may require repairs before a restoration system is applied. Covering the surface does not replace finding and addressing the source of a leak.
When might replacement be the better choice?
Extensive wet insulation, structural concerns, widespread deterioration or an unsuitable existing assembly may require replacement or other corrective work. An evaluation helps establish what can be retained and what needs attention.
Can you recommend a system from photos alone?
Photos are helpful for an initial conversation, but they do not establish everything about the roof. A final recommendation may require an on-site inspection, measurements and appropriate testing.
Systems & what to expect
What is a fluid-applied roof restoration system?
Materials are applied to a prepared, compatible roof and cure to form a continuous protective membrane. Preparation, repairs, reinforcement and application requirements depend on the selected system. See the systems overview.
How do you choose between FiberMaxx and FiberSeal?
We review your roof condition, substrate, project requirements and the manufacturer's specifications. FiberMaxx and FiberSeal use different system approaches; the proposal should identify the recommended products and application steps for your roof.
Does the roof need to be cleaned and repaired first?
Yes. Appropriate surface preparation and necessary repairs are part of establishing a suitable foundation. The scope may include cleaning, addressing seams and penetrations, and other preparation required by the selected system.
Do we have to close our building during the work?
That depends on the building and scope. We discuss access, occupied areas, rooftop equipment, entrances and business operations when planning the project. Any restrictions or temporary interruptions should be addressed before work begins.
How long does a restoration project take?
Roof size, preparation, repairs, access, weather and curing requirements all affect the schedule. We discuss the expected sequence and timing with your proposal rather than promise a standard completion time for every roof.
Can the work be done in any weather?
Application and curing must follow the product's requirements for temperature, moisture and weather conditions. Rain, dew or unsuitable temperatures can affect when work can proceed.
Costs, warranties & maintenance
How much will my roof restoration cost?
Your price depends on the roof and the agreed scope. We need to understand the project before providing an ECO Shield proposal. Costs & Project Planning explains the main factors and includes a clearly labeled industry reference, not an ECO Shield quote.
What should be included in my proposal?
Look for the roof areas, selected system, preparation and repairs, application scope, access requirements, schedule, price and payment terms, plus applicable warranty details and exclusions. Ask which work is included and which items would require a separate authorization.
What warranty comes with the system?
Coverage depends on the specific products, system, installation requirements and project terms. Review the written warranty, issuer, eligibility conditions, exclusions and maintenance responsibilities for your proposed project. Review warranty information.
Will restoration lower my energy bills?
Some reflective systems may reduce roof-surface heat gain where appropriate. Utility-bill results depend on the building, insulation, equipment, climate and operations. We do not promise a particular energy saving for every project.
Does a restored roof still need maintenance?
Yes. Keep drainage clear, inspect the roof as recommended and address damage or new penetrations promptly. Follow the applicable system's maintenance requirements and keep service records. See care guidance and technical documents.
Talking with ECO Shield
What happens when I contact you?
We start with a phone conversation to answer questions and learn about your roof. If an on-site assessment is appropriate, we discuss scheduling it after that call. Submitting an inquiry does not book an on-site visit.
What information should I have ready for the call?
Your name and contact details, building address, approximate roof size and age, roof type if known, and any current concerns are a useful start. Photos, previous repair information and existing warranty documents can help if you have them. You do not need every detail to get in touch.
Do I need to choose a system before contacting you?
No. Tell us about the building and what you want to address. We can explain the options and what needs to be evaluated before a system is selected.
How do I get started?
