FAQ

Solar questions

Do you install solar for farms?

Yes. ECO Solar designs complete residential, commercial and farm solar systems, including ground-mount options where they fit the site.

Can I add battery storage?

Yes. Battery storage can be included in a new system so you can store solar power for later use and backup. We'll review whether it makes sense for your goals.

What incentives are available?

Incentives and utility programs change. We'll review what currently applies to your project during your assessment rather than promising a credit up front.

How do I know if my property is a good fit?

Roof orientation, shading, available ground space and your energy use all matter. A free site assessment tells you whether solar makes financial sense for your property.

Do you offer financing?

Financing is available. We'll walk through options along with your proposal.

Can I afford solar energy?

Solar costs depend on your energy use, system size, site and equipment. Financing may help spread the cost over time; we can review options, estimated production and the economics in your proposal. Financing terms and savings vary.

Do solar panels work in Wisconsin winters?

Yes. Solar panels can generate electricity in cold weather when sunlight reaches them. Production varies with shorter days, clouds and snow cover; panels covered by snow produce little or no electricity until sunlight can reach them.

Do I need a battery with solar?

Not necessarily. Many solar systems are connected to the utility grid without a battery. A battery can store energy for later, and backup power requires compatible equipment and a system designed for outages. Utility credit and interconnection rules vary.

What warranties are available?

Carlson Electric describes a workmanship warranty. Solar equipment may also carry manufacturer warranties. We’ll review the applicable warranty documents, terms and coverage for the equipment and installation in your proposal.

How should I prepare for a solar estimate?

Gather about a year of electric bills if available, along with your property address and any questions about roof or ground mounting. Carlson Electric says residential estimates may be prepared remotely or onsite, depending on the project.
