Before You Choose
A HOMEOWNER’S CHECKLIST
Before You Choose a Roof Rejuvenation Company
Ten questions to help you compare treatments, understand the evidence and know what you are agreeing to before work begins. Ask any company you are considering—including us.
What product will be applied to my roof?
Ask for the exact product name, manufacturer and current product information. Make sure the product discussed in the proposal is the one that will be applied.
Who developed the product and its complete formulation?
Ask about the research and development behind the finished treatment. Information about a single ingredient does not establish how the complete formulation performs.
Has the exact finished product been independently tested?
Ask for testing of the actual treatment being sold, rather than a similar product or one of its ingredients.
Who performed the testing, and can I review the reports?
Request the laboratory or research organization’s name and the written reports. Look for test dates, methods and the shingles or samples that were evaluated.
What do the results demonstrate—and what are their limits?
Ask which properties were measured and how the findings relate to a roof like yours. Laboratory results and individual customer experiences should be explained in context, without a promise that every roof will perform identically.
How long has the treatment been used on actual roofs?
Ask when the product first entered use and whether the formulation being offered has a documented treatment history. Separate the company’s age from the product’s track record.
Can I speak with customers whose roofs were treated 3–5 years ago?
Request references and documented follow-up results, including treatment dates. Recent before-and-after photos alone cannot show how a roof performs over several years.
How will you determine whether my roof is a suitable candidate?
Ask what the assessment includes, which existing problems need repair, and what conditions would make treatment inappropriate. Request a clear explanation of your options before authorizing work.
What does the written warranty cover, and who stands behind it?
Ask for the warranty before committing. Review coverage, exclusions, claim requirements, duration and whether the manufacturer, local contractor or both are responsible. Ask how a claim would be handled if the local company stopped operating.
Are you insured, and will I receive a written scope of work?
Request proof of current insurance and a written proposal identifying the product, preparation, application, any repairs, property protection, cleanup and total price. Confirm what documentation you will receive when the work is complete.
